The winners of the 23rd Annual Rondo Hatton Classic Horror Awards have recently been announced! And while Camp Kaiju did not win for Best Podcast/Multimedia, it was certainly an honor to be nominated!
The Rondo Awards honor a wide variety of media focused on horror, especially classic horror. (The award’s namesake is actor Rondo Hatton, known for his work in the B’s and his own monstrous mug.) It’s a fabulous organization that we would recommend checking out; the full list of winners can be found here.

As for the most recent awards, the winner of the Best Podcast/Multimedia is Penny Dreadful’s “Terror at Collinwood”. The runner ups are “Colors of the Dark”; “Monster Party”; “Movie Dumpster”; and “Borgo Pass”. And the honorable mentions? “Harryhausen Podcast”; “Midnight Mass”; “Steve & Crypto”; and FRIENDS OF THE POD “FRANKENSTEIN MINUTE”! Congratulations to Bill and Thom on the honor. Camp Kaiju can’t say enough about their dedication to the classic Universal Frankenstein films; check out their guest appearance on the Camp Kaiju Podcast when we all discussed Toho’s Frankenstein Conquers the World.
One more shout out to Derek Koch of “Bride of Monster Kid Radio“, who is a legendary voice in the world of classic monster movies. Vincent had the pleasure of appearing on “Bride of Monster Kid Radio” to discuss the auteur director Jack Arnold (Creature from the Black Lagoon, The Incredible Shrinking Man, among many other staples of the genre). Catch that episode here.
Finally, eternal thanks to YOU ALL for listening to Camp Kaiju: Monster Movie Podcast!!! Your support is everything and our growth is a direct result of you sharing, commenting, and rating the show. Please keep it up! And we look forward to many more years of monster movie talks.
Until then, stay campy!
Vincent & Matt
